• Ultralightweight automotive frame, chassis, and safety components that promote energy efficiency; graphene and other nano materials are being sought. Please make submissions by August 31, 2017

• Turbine hybrid drivetrain designs; must still conform to ULEV standards. Submissions deadline August 7, 2017

• Brushless wheel hub electric motor hybrid vehicle design; entrants are encouraged to develop new drive systems that do not require transmissions. Submissions due by July 21, 2017.

•  Sensor array data applications; develop an interface usable by race teams to interpret real-time data from 300 points around the vehicle including GPS data, speed, heading individual wheel torque, temperature, frame integrity, etc. Applicants are encouraged to produce efficient interface to AI feedback. Letter of intent to apply due by May 25, 2017.
